Dear Bro:
Delbert moved away last Thursday, I am staying at another place here at Summit. I went into Tacoma a short time ago and saw Hamilton fly in his Curtis Bi-Plane. It was great! This is a photo of the machine on the other page, I will answer your letter soon, your bro J.C.R. Addressed to L.B. Redifer, Riddle,Douglas County, OR.

To support his family, John worked in the lumber
yards in The Dalles,Wasco County,Oregon during the late 1920s'. John's mother Adella was living with the family in 1930 as John's father had passed away eight years before, His mother's health was failing, in fact she died two months after the 1930 census was taken.
