Anna (Arnold) Bond died at her home near Alfalfa June 5, 1923, after suffering two weeks with heart trouble.
She was born at Council Bluffs, Gentry county, Missouri February 11, 1842, being at the time of her death 81 years, 3 months, and 21 days old. She was married to A.J. Bond in 1871.
They moved from Missouri to Kansas living there two years, thence to Oklahoma in 1889, homesteading a farm near El Reno where they lived until about 10 years ago at which time they moved to their present home.
She leaves her aged husband, one son and four daughters. They are Mrs. Lla Sheepe of Sitka, Kans., Mrs. Lon Little of Colony, S.O. Bond of Alfalfa, Mrs. Walt Little of Alfalfa, and Mrs. H.O. Hicks of Exendine besides 35 grandchildren and many fond friends to mourn her death.
Grandma Bond lived faithful to the rules of the Presbyterian church of which she was a member.
Funeral services were conducted at the home beneath the sheltering oak trees, bowers of blooming roses, and a profusion of wreaths and cut flowers which were offerings from many loving friends. rev. Nathaniel Mulder conducted funeral services with appropriate scripture reading and hymns. Pall bearers were Orville and Leo Little, Lester and Chester Hicks, Reo and A.J. Bond, Jr., all her grandsons. Al of her children except Mrs. Sheepe of Kansas were at her bedside. The bereaved family have the sympathy of our entire community. Everything that hands could do was done to relieve and comfort her but her spirit returned to the God who gave it. A friend.
