Lyndell Otis Warren, 85, of Del City, passed away June 23, 2010. He was born October 23, 1924 in Brady, Oklahoma to Otis and Fannie (Mathews) Warren. Lyndell joined the Army in October 1943 during WW II and was assigned to the Army Air Corps. Lyndell was honorably discharged after the war; and, after a brief period, re-joined the Army in June 1947. He became part of the USAF when it was created in September 1947 and served distinctly, retiring in June 1966 at the rank of CMSgt. Lyndell then spent ten years at Tinker AFB as a quality control inspector, retiring in 1976. He loved gardening, watching OU sports, and spending time with his family. He was particularly fond of teasing all his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Cheri Lyn Meyers and Denise Ann Sikes; father Otis Warren and mother Fannie Mathews; one grandson, August William; four brothers; and two sisters. He leaves behind his wife Doris of 64 years, of the home, daughter, Rhonda Balsley, and husband, Robert, of Moore; son, Lyn Warren, of Del City; sister, Avis Westbrook, of Wellston; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, June 28, at the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service in Midwest City with interment at Sunny Lane Cemetery under the direction of Ford Funeral Service.
