He built a home in Stony Brook which still stands; now The Three Village Inn restaurant. He moved to Yorktown in 1784 to go into business with his brother in Hallock's Mills; member of one of Long Island's first families who arrived there about 1640. Richard is listed in the DAR patriot index; Centennial Edition; page 1282. He died at 97 years, 3 months and 1 day.
