Services for LaVerne Fry, 76, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with Pastor Randy Bartley officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. LaVerne passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, in Lubbock.
She was born Jan. 28, 1928 in Shamrock to the late Dewitt and Norine Moore. She married Jack Fry Oct. 14, 1945 in Paris, Texas. He preceded her in death February 1974. LaVerne was a member of Slide Baptist Church. She loved crossword puzzles and crocheting.
Survivors include her two children, Mike Fry and wife Dian of Woodward, Okla., and Jackie White and husband Jerry of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Kem Taylor of Woodward, Okla. and Jeremy White and wife Amber of Lubbock; three great-grandchildren, Megan and Lindsey Copus, and Jarred Taylor; a brother, Butch Moore and wife Margaret; and a sister, Katherine Parker, both of Paris. The family suggests memorials to Slide Baptist Church, 19101 FM 1730, Lubbock, TX 79424.
