Lois Bentley, 95, of Aledo, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, at Aledo Rehab and Health Center.

Services will be at noon on Wednesday at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, where memorials may be left to the Aledo United Methodist Church Elevator Fund or Aledo Rehab and Health Center. She was born Dec. 6, 1913 in Aledo, a daughter of John and Bessie Brown Giffin.

She graduated from Aledo High School and later married Charles E. Bentley Sept.11, 1943 in Aledo. He preceded her in 2006.

She was a homemaker in her own home.

Her memberships include Aledo United Methodist Church, Order of the Easter Star Chapter 126, and she was a past president of WSCS. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing and was a member of numerous card clubs. Lois loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Bentley of Aledo; a sister, Cora Kennedy of Aledo; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, husband, four sisters; Marguerite Dellitt, Julia Clarke, Ruth Kimball, Arlene Michael; one brother, John Giffin Jr.; and one infant brother, James Edwin Giffin.
