William Preston Aldridge was the son of Huldah Gunn Bowe and James Dixon Aldridge 1856-1899. He was a successful farmer, a fertilizer salesman, owner/operator of a corn mill and a small country store in his community. He was a member of the Jr. Order United American Mechanics. He served as a township magistrate and was on the Caswell County Board of Commissioners. He was an active member of Prospect United Methodist Church.
