Geraldine L. Shanahan, age 95, of Fremont passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Geri was born on August 28, 1920, in Muskegon to Glenn Floyd and Phyllis Amanda (Dickerson) Shaw and married Donald George Shanahan on September 27, 1940 in Fremont. Geri was a Registered LPN graduating from Muskegon General Nursing School and worked at Gerber Memorial Hospital for Dr. VandenBerg, Dr. Paxton, and Dr. DeKryger. She enjoyed theme parties, cooking, wood carving, crafting and traveling.

Geri is survived by her children, Patricia Jo (Paul) Baird of Newaygo, Prudy Eileen (James) Vannier of South Lyon, Michigan, and Lynda Dyan (John) Hopkins of Louisville, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren, Blake Baird, Tyson (Tara) Baird, Jordan (Pepe) Cervantes, Zach Baird, Dr. Ryan (Amy) Vannier, Dr. Christian (Jean) Vannier, Kate Vannier, Jaime (Dan) Vannier Shockley, Amanda (Monte) Lucas and Diane (Paul) Timperman; 12 great grandchildren, Riley, Trey, Tate, Jose Paul, Mia, Grace, James, Callen, Veronica, Emily, Nick, and Coleman; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, Donald in 2002; sisters, Elaine Smith, Shirley Wilson, Jean Geeting, and Virginia Peets
