Born at Beech Grove, he was the owner of Western Auto and a member of Pyburn Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Lalia Crawford Futrell of Pocahontas; two sons, Phil Futrell and Byron Futrell, both of Pocahontas; a brother, Woodrow Futrell of Cedar Hill; eight grandchildren, David Futrell, Mark Futrell, Kara Futrell, Terri Walton and Eric Futrell, all of Pocahontas, Mel Futrell of Birmingham, Ala., Johnna Mannen of Grapevine, Texas and Kristi Mabry of Spartanburg, S.C.; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at McNabb Funeral Home. Burial will be in Morrow Cemetery at Beech Grove.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home."
