Primrose (Rose) was born to Brigham and Primrose Lee Davies in Richville (Milton), Tooele County. (Neither Richville or Milton are existing townships in Tooele County.) Her mother passed away 3 days after her 8th birthday. The following June, 1891 her father married Elizabeth Griffith Davies.

Primrose was a very industrious and assertive individual. Not afraid to travel throughout the western and eastern United States as a young woman. She worked in various industries throughout her lifetime (seamstress, beautician, restaurant management and ranching) to name a few.

On March 27, 1920, Primrose married James Franklin Arnold. As she states in her autobiography, "He was in the restaurant business. I sold my business and went into his as manager, bookkeeper and helpmate for twenty-nine years, twenty-eight of which were mostly happy... I was divorced on 29 May 1949 in Mexico."

Her brother, Gilbert, and his wife Ruth lived in Inglewood, California. When Ruth died in 1954, Primrose moved in with Gilbert to be company for each other. Gilbert moved to Lake Point, Utah in the late 1950's. Upon his move, Primrose lived alone in a single apartment and devoted much of her time to church activities until her death in 1963. She never had children.
