Jack was a Body Man at an Auto Body Shop. His wife was Myrtle George. His parents were H. C. Cravey and Betty Smith.

H.C. (Henry Clay) Cravey, Jack's father, was the son of William R. Cravy and Williamfinee (Finy) DeFee, who married in San Augustine Co, TX in 1846. Both Henry Clay and his father served in the Confederate Army. William R. Cravey died at Camp Nelson, AR and is buried there.

Last Rites Held for Jack Vinson Cravey
Funeral services for Jack Vinson Cravey were held here Saturday, June 23, at 2 p.m. in the Spur Church of Christ, with John McCoy of Brownfield officiating. He was assisted by R.C. Copeland, local minister of the church.

Pallbearers were Abb Smith, Tooter Cannon, Bill Wyatt, O.K. Smith, Harry Ellis and Bull Rucker. Honorary pallbearers were J.B. Morrison, Sr., Ed Fuqua, Bob Dixon, Thedford Fry, Elmer Maben, Jimmie Stewart and J.B. Morrison, Jr.

Cravey was a native of Spur, being born in this community on October 1, 1906. Date of demise was June 21, 1956. He was wed to Myrtle George on September 15, 1935, in a ceremony held in Roby. He had resided in Brownfield for the last 12 years, moving there from Rotan.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Cravey; four sons, Bob, Winston, Wren and Albert Cravey, three sisters, Mrs. A.Q. Smelser of Spur, Mrs. C.A. Norcross of Lubbock, and Mrs. O.B. Valentine of Brownfield, four brothers, Lincoln of Springer, NM, Ike of Silver City, NM and Dick and Bill of Post.

Interment was in the Red Mud Cemetery with Campbells Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
