PARALYSIS IS FATAL TO JAMES M. DENTON-Second Stroke Causes Death at Dallas Township Home
James Milton Denton,78,died at 10:55 p.m. Friday at his home in Dallas township, six miles west of the city on Coblentz Hill where he lived the last 25 years. Death was caused by paralysis. He had been in failing health since his first stroke in April,1931,and suffered a second stroke last Sunday.
Mr. Denton was born in Jefferson township, this county, October 7,1858, to William and Elizabeth Denton. He married Isabelle Welker, March 24, 1883.
Surviving are the widow, a son, Isom Denton, this city; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A son, Emerson Denton, preceded the father in death.
He was a member of the Wesleyan church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Lancaster Church of the Brethren, the Rev. George R. Crane, pastor of the Huntington, United Brethren Church officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster.

Funeral services for James Milton Denton were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Lancaster Church of the Brethren, the Rev. George R. Crane, pastor of the Huntington United Brethren church, officiating.
Music was by Rev. and Mrs. Crane. Flowerbearers were Dorothy Denton, Rose Mary Denton and Phyllis Denton.
Pallbearers were Albert Petrie, Joe Hesting, A. O. Stenzel, Leon Wisner, Godfrey Mitzler, John Rice, George Casper and James Shaffer.
Burial was at Lancaster.....Herald Press, Huntington, Indiana, October 11, 1936
