Omer H. Atwood, 92, passed away July 2, 2010. He was born in a wagon on an Indian reservation in Rabbit, Okla. He did many things in his life, from working in shipyards in California during the war, truck maintenance at Fountain Sand and Gravel, maintenance and then as a psych tech at Colorado State Hospital, where he retired in 1980. He raised his family in Pueblo and then moved to Fowler, where he lived on a small ranch with his daughter and son-in-law for the last 12 years. He is survived by his daughter, Toni (John) Schwartz, Fowler; son, Emol (Cecelia) Atwood, Eagle Point, Ore., and stepdaughter, Kim (Alex) Bechthold Jr., Pueblo West. Also survived by one brother, six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, three brothers, seven sisters, an infant son and his grandson, John W. Schwartz, a firefighter. Cremation with no service planned. Arrangements by Griffy Family Funeral Home in Fowler.
