Alma Board, 95, of Aledo, formerly of Reynolds, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Aledo cemetery with the Rev. John Crede officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, where memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice, Mercer County VFW Post 1571 Auxiliary or to a favorite charity.

She was born April 20, 1906, in Suez Township, Mercer County, a daughter of Grant A. and Anna Balmer Brown. She attended Mercer County schools and married Benjamin Board Aug. 14, 1924, in Davenport. She lived in Aledo from 1936 to 1951 when she moved to Reynolds where she farmed until retiring in 1970.

Alma was a member of the United Methodist Church, Aledo, Mercer County Farm Bureau and Mercer County VFW Post 1571 Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing and quilting.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Ruth Randall, Moline, and Evelyn and Marlee Anderson, Galva; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. Her parents, son, Harold, a grandson, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
