Baby Paul was the son of James Francis McDermott and Annie Catherine Johnston McDermott. He was sick with a cold on Christmas Day 1919 and was watching his brothers and sisters and friends jumping over a bond fire in the back of the house. He ran out the door and tried to jump the fire. The long white nightgown which he was wearing caught fire and went up in flames. Little Paul didn't survive his burns.
