Ellen McDermott was the daughter of Annie Catherine Johnston and James Francis McDermott who lived in Curwensville, PA. Ellen was 11 years of age, when she went to school one spring morning and the weather changed drastically. She was released from school and walked home in a blizzard, caught a cold which eventually went into pneumonia and died. She was my namesake, and a beautiful child.
