HOLMES -- On Saturday, April 20, 1901, at the residence of her daughter, West Mountain avenue, this city, Mrs. Eliza Jane Holmes, aged 82 years, 2 months and 6 days.

Eliza Jane Haven was born February 24th, 1819 in Washington Co, Pennsylvania. She was married to Isaac B. Holmes 64 years ago and was the mother of eleven children all, saving one, surviving her. When thirteen years old she was immersed by the distinguished Alexander Campbell father of the Christian church, at buffalo Creek, near Bethany, West Virginia, thereafter remaining a faithful member of the Christian church to the close of her life. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Christian church, Elder S. R. Wilson preaching the sermon.
