John Turner Richardson, 65, rancher, of Abilene, was found dead in his car in Nelson Park Lake at Abilene Monday afternoon. The car was discovered in the lake by Mae Bowman of the Abilene zoo. located adjacent to the lake. When it was pulled out. Mr. Richardson's body became visible. Justice of the Peace Henry F. Long pronounced him dead and ordered an autopsy.

It was believed that he had run off the dam approximately 500 feet east of the west end. He had been in the water between 8 and 12 hours, according to investigators.

Richardson was raised in Olney and attended schools here. He moved to Abilene in 1953, where he has resided since. Services were held in Abilene at the First Christian church. Graveside rites were held at the cemeter.

Survivors: his wife; four daughters; sister - Mrs. Guy Houston of Throckmorton; niece - Mrs. Benjamin Sadau of Olney.

John Richardson and Miss Minnie Haley were married in Tyler, Texas on 1 February 1922, but the family in Olney only found out about it in the past few days. The couple will arrive in the next few days to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Richardson.

hn Richardson opened the first movie house in Olney in the early 1920s. He later sold the theaters to his brother, Curtis Richardson.
