In 2017 - Our YDNA was done for our Almand family.
Our name is not ALMAND/ALMOND or any variations of this name.
We can only trace (with proofs) our family line back to Thomas Almand, Sr. born 1762 who married Annice Ussery.
Familytree DNA told me that for some reason Irish people changed their names - a lot! There are eight pages of names matching our YDNA. But only four (4) names of Almand variations. At this point we may never find the answer to this. Contact me if you are interested in these YDNA results.

Please - always ask before taking photographs from my findagrave memorials.

All that I post on findagrave has been a labor of love and required many years of research and hard labor. Please, ask before you take my photographs (this is a FAG rule). I would like you to give me credit using my name when you copy my genealogy postings and photographs.

If you take information that I have posted on my findagrave Memorials..... please, give me credit for my research.
Thank you! Shirley Ann Bennett Barham

A Loved and Lovable Gentelman . Many Relatives Survive. Over 70 Years Old.

Henry P. Almand, a familiar figure on the streets of Conyers for over 50 years. Died suddenly Tuesday, morning at
2 o'clock.
He was the son of Henry P. Almand, Sr. one of the most highly esteemed and prosperous of the early pioneer of this section of the state.
Mr. Almand was a member of the Baptist church since his infancy and attened while his health permitted.
His furneral was held from the Conyers Baptist church, interment taking place in East View cemetery.
Rev. Ammons officiated at the very sad services.
The casket was covered with beautiful flowers, a token of the love and esteem he was held in the minds of his grief-stricken friends.
Many people were called to the church and burial place as a last evidence of their respect for this honest gentleman.
One of the most beautiful tributes ever paid the dead was paid Mr. Almand's memory today, overheard by the writer of this obituary.
The times is able to vouch for the following as are many others who wre closely associated with him.
'He was a big kind-hearted and loyal friend, truthful and honest. One so conscientions he would swear to his own hurt,'"
He was indeed a loving and lovable husband, father and son. He will be missed from amoung our citizens, but he rests peacfully in heaven.
He was associated with the mercantile establishment of
H. P. and D. M. Allmand for many years.
The majority of his life was spent in Conyers, only a few years away while he was in the mercantile business at Jackson, Ga., mark his residence out of the town of his birth.
He is survived by numerous relatives over Rodkdale county, his widow, who was Miss Nancy McDonald; his mother, Mrs. H. P. Almand, four children.. Pryor, Mattie Lou, Gene and Lillian Almand.I believe This Henry matches with the dates as Henry Pryor Almand headstone. They got the wrong father/ siblings attached to him on that memorial. I think it needs to be corrected.
