He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and also participated in the Berlin airlift after World War II. He attended American University in Washington, D.C., and was employed by the FBI. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and served on the board of directors for the Erie Postal Credit Union. He retired in 1999 after 23 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marilyn Bernier Boniger; a daughter, Julie M. Boniger of Erie; two sisters, Margaret A. Mitchell of Deland and Kathleen M. Kees of Erie; two brothers, Richard M. Boniger of Erie and Charles L. Boniger of Apopka, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Burial, with military honors, will be at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
