Grace Lelia Stevens was born in Jones, OK March 31, 1914. She was the
last of five children of Amanda Chitwood and Charles Asbury Stevens.
She married John Philip "PJ" Arnn July 13, 1937 in Perry, OK. Two
children were born to this marriage: Judith Amanda Arnn and Wilma
Joanne Arnn. She was predeceased by PJ; he was killed in action in
France in 1944. She married Charles W. Walker in 1951 in Oklahoma City,
OK. She was also predeceased by her parents and her younger daughter
Joanne in 1956.

Survivors at the time of her death included her sister Tressie Stevens
Baker of Edmond, OK and Doris Cudd of Lindsay OK, 9 nieces and 7
nephews. She was also predeceased by her siblings: Ernest Ray Stevens
[1896-1981] and Daisy Velma Stevens Canada [1900-1947]; her maternal
grandparents Mary Ann Buford and George Washington Robinson of Reynolds
County, MO and her paternal grandparents Nancy Catherine Griffitts and
George Stevens

Grace was educated in Edmond public schools and graduated from Central
State College [now UCO] with a B.A. in Spanish and English. She taught
several years in public schools prior to her first marriage. After her
first marriage she stayed home with their children until PJ's death.
She worked for the US Post Office in Oklahoma City for several years
during the late 1940s when she was a single Mom. At the time of her
death she was a homemaker and an active member of Memorial Christian Church.

Charles of the home; 1 daughter, Judith Amanda Arnn of San Antonio, Tx;
2 sisters, Tressa Baker of Edmond & Doris Cudd of Lindsay, Ok; 9 nieces,
7 nephews. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by a daughter Joanne Arnn.
She was a graduate of Central State College in Edmond & worked as a
school teacher for the postal service. She was a homemaker & an active
member of Memorial Christian Church.
This memorial to my mother Grace Lelia Stevens should indicate her 1st marriage to my father John Philip Arnn. My sister is named as a child of this union. My parents married in 1937.
