Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, May 21, at 3 o'clock at the Molsbee Chapel for Sam Molsbee, 82 years of age, who passed away at his home near Nocona May 20. Pastor Edwin Rodabaugh officiated.
The deceased was born to Abraham and Sue (Loony) Molsbee, of Rogersville, Tennessee, October 26, 1866. He was married to Chassie Gillenwater September 23, 1888. They moved to Nocona in October, 1888, where he spent the remainder of his life.
Uncle Sam, as he was lovingly called by his friends became a Christian and united with the Church of the Brethren at Cedar Grove, Tennessee, April 10, 1886. He had been a local member of the church and was active until ill health prevented him from attending services. Uncle Sam was the last of the charter members of the congregation at Molsbee Chapel. His life was a shining example of what Christian living should be.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Chassie, and two sons, Quinter and Robert S.
