Funeral services were held Monday, October 8, for David C. Molsbee, 75, who died at his home on October 6. The service was held at Molsbee Chapel at 2 p.m., with Bro. C.E. Schrock officiating and Bro. G.N. Stone assisting. Interment was made in the Molsbee Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Daugherty Funeral Home.
David C. Molsbee was the son of Elder Abe and Sue Molsbee. He was born in Hawkins County, Tennessee, July 26, 1888. He was married to Annie Beck on September 20, 1891. To this union was born 9 children. One infant son preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, 6 daughters, and 2 sons. They are: Mrs. Florence Lemon of Byers, Texas; Ms. Nettie Clark, Glendale, California; Mrs. Bertie Menaso, Lubbock, Texas; Mrs. Esther May Goldsmith, Saint Jo; Mrs. Velda Roberts, Mrs. Nona Harris, Vester and Charlie Molsbee, all of Nocona. Also 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, 23 nieces and nephews, 1 brother, Sam Molsbee of Nocona, 3 sisters, Mrs. Alice Gillenwater of Rogersville, Tennessee, Mrs. Maggie Drake of Kuna, Idaho, ad Mrs. Sudie Skinner of Nocona. Four brothers preceded him in death. They were Orville, Willie, App and Abe.
Mrs. Molsbee was baptized into the Church of the Brethren in Tennessee on September 30, 1883. He was received by letter as a charter member of the Nocona Church of the Brethren at the time of its organization, April 6, 1889. He served the church as deacon for 35 years or more and was superintendent of the Sunday School at the time of his death.
He was of kind disposition and will be greatly missed by his family, the church and his many friends.
