Blanche Amelia Sigafose, This is one of the few pictures I ever saw that shows my grandmother dressed up. I wonder what the occasion was. No date.

Blanche Amelia SIGAFOSE Keene, my Grandmother, b.6/1/1886 to Wilson Sigafose? and Hannah Bokensheets?, not sure od the spelling for Sigafose and found her mother Hannah had different maiden names. Blanche had married? twice her second husband, my grandfather J Walter KEENE was a fine gentleman, according to my Uncle Melvin. My grandfather died before I was born.

Melvin James, b.9/29/1915, James Walter Jr, b.12/14/1920 & Hannah Elizabeth, b.7/6/1917. Between Melvin and Jim there is almost 5 years and between Hannah & Jim almost 3 1/2 years. I believe something may be wrong with the names on this picture. Who can estimate the ages of these kids? Could the oneon the right be Connie NESBITT born 3/9/1918?

1917est J Walter KEENE, my grandfather holding my mother Hannah Elizabeth Keene. He was Blanches 2nd husband and had 1 son from a previous marriage named Robert Lee KEENE. My Uncle Melvin said my Grandfather KEENE was a great man.

1928est in Penn, PA, Aunt Sara has her arm around Uncle Chuck Nesbitt, That is Chucks father, John W Nesbitt with the cap on. the guy between them is George Mentzel, Bottom center is my Grandfather J Walter KEENE and maybe a Callahan. The kid to the left is probably Uncle Melvin.

This picture was taken in Boston according to my Uncle Melvin around 1920. They are on vacation at their friends house who use to live in Pittsburgh. My grandparents are on the right Blanche A SIGAFOSE and J Walter KEENE. This is the only other picture of my Grandma dressed up.

Blanche Amelia SIGAFOSE Keene, My grand-mother. I never remember her looking much different. In the winter she wore this sweater, in the summer an old cotton dress with no sleeves and an apron.

1942est Children Fr.C. Peggy C Keene, b.10/11/1941, L. Mary Ann, R. Elizabeth A., are the daughters of Ethel HARCUM center back & Melvin Keene. Mildred is standing in front of her mother Blanche. Next is Mae KRAMER Keene married to Robert and Sara BAUER Nesbitt, Blanche's daughter from 1st marriage.

Aug. 1954 My Grandmother Blanche Amelia SIGAFOSE Keene washed clothes outside in the summer and in the winter the washer went back inside to the kitchen. I remember she use to boil the bed sheets in a big copper kettle.

This is the foundation, my Aunt Elenore still owns it. I will have to ask her the history of it. I know my Grandmother lived there when she died and was living there when my Dad died in 1950. It was after 1947 she lived here. I believe my Uncles built it. It had no inside bathroom and my Grandmother had a kitchen, living room and bedroom. Not very big for everyone who lived here. She had a TV you could watch if you put a quarter in I think you got 1/2 hour. It still has an outside toilet.
