Mrs. John Charchenko, 70, of Killdeer, North Dakota, mother of several Crookston residents and former resident of the area, died Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital in Dickinson, North Dakota. She had been in ill health for the past several months.
Survivors besides her husband include three daughters, Mrs. Tony Leiss, Killdeer; Mrs. Lester Holt, Minneapolis; and Mrs. Orvin Grondahl, Crookston, six sons, Ernest, Joseph and Prince of Crookston; Sam, Watford City, North Dakota; Tom, Brownfield, Texas, and William in the United States Navy, now stationed at San Francisco, California. There are also 19 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
