Mrs. Annabel Deviney, 79, of the St. Patrick's community, died yesterday at the Atchison hospital. She had been in failing health the last three years . . . Burial will be in Mount Vernon cemetery. Mrs. Deviney was a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Miller. Her father was an early day carriage maker in Atchison. She and Joe Deviney were united in marriage in 1903, and spent all their married life in Atchison county.
She was member of the Methodist church and was a former Atchison county school teacher. She attended the Atchison High School, Midland College and Emporia Teachers College before she taught seven years.
A daughter, Helen, preceded her in death in 1923. Her husband died in January of 1951. A sister, Mrs. Miriam Joy, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are four children, First Lt. Ruth M. Deviney of Trieste, Italy, Mrs. Lois Keenan, Harold Deviney and John Deviney, all of Atchison, a brother, Thomas S. Miller of Seattle, and three grandchildren, Dennis, Richard and Kathleen Deviney.

Miss Annabelle Miller, who lives at 307 South Seventh street, and is a daughter of Jacob Miller, a carriage maker, went away from home Thursday leaving a note saying that before her return she would be married to Joe Dabner [sic], a farmer near Potter. Miss Miller has taught school near Potter for several years and her friends knew of her engagement to Mr. Dabner,* who owns a farm and who has been furnishing his house for his bride. Her father says that there was no objection to the match. He has heard nothing further from her and does not know whether the wedding has occurred or not.
