OBIT:

Charles Allen Riggs, 62, a Kittitas Valley resident for more than a half a century, died at the Kittitas county hospital this morning following a lingering illness.

Born October 22, 1879, near Echo, Ore., he came to the valley with his parents in the spring of 1889. The family settled in the Manastash and he grew up here. Well known throughout the valley, he had worked in this vicinity most of his life. He was married February 25, 1941 to Jennie Kraus of Anacortes.

Surviving are his widow, a stepson, three brothers, Seth Riggs of Easton and W. A. and Neal Riggs of Ellensburg; two sisters, Mrs. Seward Southern of Woodinville, Wash., and Mrs. Robert Gage of Ellensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Honeycutt Chapel Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with Rev. W. M. Martin officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
