Hiram was the son of Shelton Harrison and Angeline Gray Harrison. His mother was born to Sarah Isaacs in 1835/36 in KY. Sarah married James Gray and he was the stepfather of Angeline. This information was found on Angeline's marriage license that she filled out at the time of her marriage to Shelton Harrison. She married Shelton Nov. 7, 1855 in Madison Co., KY. It is believed that Hiram's brother Lafayette was the last child born to Shelton and Angeline, but no proof has been found to date. Angeline's date of death is unknown at this time, but Shelton married Leannah Isaacs a widow around 1865/66 and they had their first child in 1867.

Dec. 1926 Jackson Co., KY. The original date of Hiram's birth on FAG was 1861, but he gave his year of birth as 1860 in the 1900 census. So I changed the birth year to match the 1900 census. He also showed up in the 1860 census so he could not have been born in 1861.
