PANHANDLE (Spc) - Funeral services for Mrs. Olive Meaker, 79, a resident of Panhandle since 1923, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Don L. Holmes, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Meaker died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday in Highland General Hospital in Pampa after a long illness.
Born in High Ham, Somersetshire, England, she came to Illinois in 1921. She was married in Peoria, Ill., to Orlando Meaker, who came to Panhandle in 1908. He died Dec. 7, 1969.
She was a member of the Church of England.
Surviving are four stepsons, Orlando, Julius and Charles of Panhandle and Purl of Pampa; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Johnston of Denver, Colo., and Miss Joyce Gould of Panhandle; one brother, Ernest Gould of Reedley, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 46 grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
