Pittsburg KS newspaper, March 31, 1999, obit:
"Orval Woodling --- Girard --- Orval Woodling, 91, formerly of Girard, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at the Baton Rouge Medical Center, at Baton Rouge, La. He was born to Jesse and Sophie Torneden Woodling. He married Eunice Helen Barton on Oct. 6, 1934. She survives of the home. He was retired from Boeing Aircraft. Additional survivors include a son, Orval Eugene "Gene" Woodling, of Baton Rouge; two grandsons; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Henry Woodling. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Girard Cemetery, with the Rev. Lucille Barb officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. Monday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Girard, where friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home."
