Roswell is the son of Hiram Earl Waldron and Mary Ann Harrison. His birth is often written as 1864. However, his age at death -- 11 yrs 16 days -- places his birth at 1865.

Cause of death: "Fell on a knife at his throat." Some sources note that he was on his way home from Sabbath school and was playing when he fell. The blade of the knife cut into the jugular vein. He lived but a short while afterwards.
