A retired farmer, Hiram was born in Williams County, Ohio, March 12, 1875. he came to Michigan at the age of one(1) year and had lived on the same farm since that time.
Hiram attended Pine Grove School. He was a member of the Pine Grove Church and Crystal IOOF Lodge. On September 26, 1899, he was married to the former Lulu Foley. She died in 1969. They had 6 children - 2 daughters(Clara and Jennie) and 4 sons(Jesse, David, C.L. and Harvey J.)12 Grandchildren, 37 Great-Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great- Grandchildren.
