Alma Audrey Lewis was born in Big Fork, AR, and spent most of her early life within Polk County, AR. She married Robert Lee Dorough on 21 Dec 1921 in Mena, AR. She was a homemaker prior to WW2. During WW2 she worked as an inspector on the bomb production line at Pantex Ordnance in Amarillo, TX. For 25 years she was the principal sewing instructor for Singer in Amarillo and retired from Singer. She was an artist in oils. Later in life she moved to Oklahoma City and upon her husband's death, she moved to Denver to be near family. She passed away in a nursing home in Morrison at 100 years, 8 months of age. They had four children: Robert Lrod Dorough 12 Dec 1923, Alma Jean Dorough Hess 4 Nov 1925, Lewis Edward Dorough 7 Jul 1933, and Aaron Gregory Dorough 29 May 1935. At the time of her death, she was survived by 4 children, 14 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
