Services Held For Ercie Murray, 75
Funeral services for Ercie Murray, 75, Ava, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bethany Baptist Church, Ava, with the Rev. Dale Adams officiating. Burial was in Denlow Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Clinkingbeards of Ava.
A resident of Ava for most of his life. Mr. Murray died at 1:18 p.m. Jan. 14, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, following a short illness.
Born March 13, 1913, in Ozark County, he was the son of Franklin Thomas and Samantha Jane Anderson Murray. He was first married to Beatrice (Evans) Perry in 1938, in California, and later in 1956, was married to Mary Bates in California.
He was an aircraft machinist at Lockheed and TRW companies in California, where he was involved in making machine parts for the Lunar Module Project. He was also an Army veteran and a member of Bethany Baptist Church and the Ava County Club.
Survivors include a son, Larry, Duncan, Okla., two daughters, Ms. Patricia Trope, Antioch, Ill., and Mrs. Janine Miller, Thousand Oaks, calif.; one brother, Austin Murray, Porterville, Calif., eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
