Death of Mrs. Bosche

Her Demise Yesterday Evening Was A Surprise To Many Friends.

She Had Lived Here From Young Womanhood, Was an Active Worker in the Presbyterian Church, and Her Death is Much Regretted.

The announcement this morning of the death of Mrs. Emily Bosche, of 200 West Maple street, last night, was a surprise, for it was not generally known that she was even ill. On the day after Christmas Mrs. Bosche was taken ill and was sick ever since, and yesterday she had a second henorrhage, and death relieved her suffering about 9 o'clock last evening.

Emily Craig Bosche was born in Clark County, Ohio, May 23, 1845, and having spent her girlhood in that state came to Independence in 1872. She came here as a young woman and has been interested in the welfare of Independence ever since it started to grow from a small village into the present importance. Since coming to Independence, Mrs. Bosche had been closely associated with the Presbyterian church having for many years been an ardent worker both in the Sunday School and the church proper. She had a class of girls in the school for years, and shortly after the building of the new church was compelled to give it up on account of the health of her mother, Mrs. Craig, who made her home with her daughter.

Mrs. Bosche is survived by one brother, who lives in Ohio, and five sisters, three living in Ohio and Indiana, and two in Independence. Mrs. B.F. DeVore and Mrs. Ralph Harper, who with their mother, Mrs. Craig, were with Mrs. Bosche at the time of her death.

She was married to Mr. Bosche just before coming here. He died many years ago.

The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at the house, 200 West Maple street, and the service will be in charge of the Rev. R. Thomsen of the Presbyterian church.
