Leo J. Brown, 81, of Owosso, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000 at Memorial Healthcare Center, Owosso. Born March 20, 1919 in Chesaning, he was the son of George and Irene (Fitzpatrick) Brown. He graduated from Corunna High School with the class of 1937. Leo married Grace Noack, July 2, 1940 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Owosso. He resided most of his life in Corunna and Gladwin.

He was a member of the third degree Knights of Columbus, member of the Owosso Elks Club and the Owosso Moose Lodge, and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was also a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin. Leo enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and horses, and he also trained dogs.

Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Barbara and husband Ed Cunningham of Owosso and Ann and husband Dave Cooper of White Lake; one brother, Allan and wife Betty; five grandchildren, Jim McAvoy, Kelene Farris, Michelle Sovis, and Jeff and Chris Fink; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Brown of Corunna and Shirley Brown of Owosso. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bob and Bill and one son-in-law, Jim McAvoy Jr.

A mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand with Rev. Father Joseph Aubin officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Corunna.
