Sgt. U.S. Army, World War II-Sgt. Leesman was killed in action on 4-12-1945 while serving with an Armored Unit in Germany under the Command of General Hodge's 1st Army.

He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Eilert Leesman of Lincoln, Illinois, and the husband of Mrs. Vivian {Fisher} Leesman, and the father of one son, Gary Ernest, at home.

He enlisted in the Army in Peoria, Illinois on October 3, 1942.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, American Campaign Medal, European Campaign Medal with Three Battle Stars, WWII Victory Medal.
