Ardetta Andre Foster, 84, of Oshkosh, formerly of Arnold, passed way Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at the Garden County Nursing Home in Oshkosh.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. (CDT), Monday, March 9, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Arnold with Pastors Frank Scott and Irving Jennings officiating. Interment will be in the Arnold Cemetery.

Ardetta was born on April 23, 1924, in Arnold, Neb. to Bert and Bernice (Davis) Green. She grew up in the Arnold area until 1939 when her family moved to Wyoming to homestead in the Ocean Lake/Pavillion area. The family lived in a tent until a sod basement house was built sometime later. Ardetta graduated from Pavillion High School and after graduation, she traveled back to Arnold to visit family and find employment. During this visit she met Clarence Andre. They were united in marriage on August 24, 1944 at Arnold. They made their home to the farm/ranch where they spent all of nearly 50 years together. After a long illness, Clarence passed away in July 1994.

Ardetta married Frank Foster on Dec 2 1996 and they moved to North Platte until his death in September 2005. At that time, she moved to Oshkosh for the remainder of her days.

Ardetta loved the farm, working in the fields, gardening and working with the animals. One of the highlights in her life was teaching the small children in Sunday school. She spent countless hours making visuals to help the kids learn. She enjoyed sewing, bowling, artwork painting, and worked with many different crafts. Her ceramics is what she excelled in. Ardetta made many beautiful pieces, giving most of them away to others. Her family and church were her priority.

She is survived by her daughters, Geraldine Webb and Jean Long; three grandchildren, Tabatha Long, Michele (Shane) Sells and Michael (Carol) Hedberg; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Lexi Sells; sister, Alfrieda Corr; brothers, Bob (Shirley) Green and Dick (Carol) Green; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Alveree Parachini along with many other friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Andre and Frank Foster; her parents; two brothers, Cloice and Don Green; and son-in-law, Vernon Long.
