Daughter of Jesse S. Hodges and Faith Jane Jones. After her mother died in 1875, her father brought her to Christian Co. MO where he married again and raised a large family near Sparta. Maggie was married to Grant Gilmore 26 Mar 1891 in Christian Co. MO. They were parents of three children, Josie, Leslie and Paul. Maggie was a very industrious person and helped her husband build a house, added a room to her house after he passed away, made her own soap, raised gardens, sewed her own dresses, and mowed her own grass.
