LaVean Christensen Robbins, 94, of Tremonton, died Thursday, January 3, 2002 at the home of her son Darvel & Velda Robbins, in Roy, where she received tender loving care.

She was born December 30, 1907 in Elwood, Utah the daughter of Parley William & Margaret Hunsaker Christensen.

She married Melvin A. Robbins, on August 24, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Melvin died on August 31, 1984.

LaVean was reared in Elwood graduating from Bear River High School in 1926. In 1931 Melvin and LaVean moved to Tremonton, where she has lived for past 70 years. She loved taking care of her home and yard. She and Melvin loved to dance.

LaVean was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has served as a primary teacher, Mutual organist and pianist for meetings, she was a visiting teacher for 70 years, carried out many assignments in the temple, and a visiting teacher supervisor.

She is survived by two sons - Darvel (Velda) Robbins of Roy, UT and RonDell (Jeri) Robbins of Tremonton, UT; one daughter - Jeraldine (Wesley) Whiting of Arvada, CO; two sisters - Deone (Norm) Litchenstein of Brigham City, UT, Barbara (Carl) Burningham of Nyssa, Oregon; one brother - A.C. (Doris) Christensen of Elwood, Utah; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers - Mervin, James, J.P., and Max; and one sister - Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m.,Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at the Tremonton LDS 1st Ward, 166 North Tremont Street. Bishop Lyle Vance will be officiating. Friends may call Tuesday 6:00-7:30 p.m. and Wednesday 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East - Tremonton.
