Brulington, Colo. -- Former Ness City resident Seraphine Haas Seib Pelton, 74, died Thursday, Jan. 5 at the Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born Seraphine Haas Dec. 25, 1909 at Antonino.


She married Joseph J. Seib May 5, 1931. He died April 5, 1958. She married Alma Pelton Oct. 6, 1971. He died May 2, 1980.


She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Burlington and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cheyenne Wells, Colo.


Survivors include four sons, Joe of San Diego, Calif., Tom of Diamond Bar, Calif., Ray of Hoisington, and Jim of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brothers, Pete of Russell, and Al and Paul, both of Ness City; six sisters, Rose Moore and Ida Sheperd, both of Denver, Colo., Grace Zimmerman, Bertha Rohr and Anna Mary Stoecklein, all of Ness City, Anna Diehl, Hays; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.


Rosary 7 tonight at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ness City. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Joseph Bahr; burial will be in church cemetery. Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.
