"Peter Bock, father, was born near McKeansburg, this county, in 1786, and died in the same county in the year 1849. He was a large farmer, to which occupation he devoted his life, and attained to considerable influence in the neighborhood in which he lived. He held membership in the church which his father had so liberally supported, and held nearly all the offices within the gift of that body. His political support was given to the Whig party. He was united in marriage with Mary M. Fey, and had a family of eight children, three sons and five daughters."
