Roy Joseph Duplechin, 80, a native of Crowley and a resident of Ragley, died Saturday, June 19, 2010, at his residence in Ragley. He was a member of St. Piux the X of Ragley. He served his country proudly in the United States Army.
Roy loved music, especially playing the guitar and drums. He loved to work on old cars and was a master paint and body man. Roy had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
He was the son of the late Christoff Duplechin and the late Louise Menard Duplechin.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Delta Duplechin of Ragley; three daughters, Deborah Mullens and husband Ronald of Coldspring, Texas, Jennifer Kolstad and husband Rick of Las Vegas, and Angie Ware and fiance Nick Bowles of Ragley; one sister, Ella Cole and husband Kenneth of Ragley; four brothers, Wilson Duplechin and wife Jodi, Wesley Duplechin and wife Margie, Calvin Duplechin and wife Elnora, all of Ragley, and Ray Duplechin and wife Eve of DeRidder; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lawrence Duplechin and Wilfred Duplechin; three sisters, Florance Dartez, Mable Lavergne and Ethel Broussard.
The family will receive friends 3-10 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, at Christensen Funeral Home. The Rev. Dubois will officiate. Interment will be at Duplechin Cemetery in Ragley.
