On Dec. 3, 1938, he married Edith Hurst. She died Feb. 8, 1987. Survivors include: a son, Roger; a daughter, Kay Stauth; a sister, Carol Hearting; a brother, Marion Sunley; a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Anderson; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
