Charles was the son of Benedict Leonard Boarman & Elizabeth Jenkins. He married Mary Edelen about 1775 & they had 9 children. Charles was a professor at Georgetown University from 1797 until his death. In his youth, he was sent to Liege Belgium for his education. When Charles' son Charles was 4, the family moved to Georgetown DC. They lived in a brick house purchased from George Fenwick. Later the Boarman property was sold to the University & today is part of the football field.
