Age 79, formerly of Millcreek Township, son of the late Franklin and Mabel Coleman Dinger. e lived most of his life in Erie. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, then worked for General Electric Co. for more than 44 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, card games and shooting pool.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Paula J. Pomorski; two sisters, Alma Conley and Esther Craft; and a brother, Harold "Bud" Dinger.

Survivors include four daughters, Carol West (Richard), Charlene Pomorski (John), Abby Dinger and Shawna Humes (David), all of Erie; three sons, Thomas Dinger (Renee), of San Jose, Calif., and William Dinger and Shawn Dinger (Stacey), all of Arizona; seven sisters, Helen Stear of Erie, Connie Hemple of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Naomi Gray (Chickie), of Reynoldsville, Erma Puma (Charlie), all of Punxsutawney, Kim Kelsey (Bryan), of Chicora, Lois Dinger of Stroudsburg and Renee Fisher (Mike), of Dayton, Pa.; five brothers, Paul and Dale Dinger, both of Punxsutawney, Ed Dinger (Shirley), of Martinsburg, W.Va., Frank Dinger (Sue), of Brookville and Ken Dinger (Brenda), of Monticello, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
