Funeral services were held here on Wednesday, Aug 17, 1960, at 2 pm in the Beckmann Funeral Home for Mrs. Alfred Alberthal, 65, who died on Monday, Aug 15 at 3:30pm.
The Rev George W Krueger officiated in the rites. A duett sang at the funeral home and burial was made in the City Cemetery.
Mrs. Alberthal was the former Miss Lena Wittkohl and was born here on May 23, 1895, the daughter of Fritz Wittkohl and Mrs. Elisa Friedrich Wittkohl.
She was married to Alfred Alberthal on Aug 23, 1914 at Pecan Creek by Rev D Meyer.
The Alberthals were members of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband and the following children: Alma, Mrs. Alois Novian, Fredericksburg; Leroy Alberthal, Kerrville; Erwin Alberthal, Fredericksburg; William Alberthal, Kerrville; Florine, Mrs. Floyd Black, Kerrville; and Roland Alberthal, Fredericksburg.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and the following sisters and brother: Mrs. F C Lange, San Antonio; Annie, Mrs. Albert Schuch, Fredericksburg; Otto Wittkohl of Johnson City.
Half brothers and sisters surviving are: Alma, Mrs. Eddie Straube, Fredericksburg; Hedwig, Mrs. Felix Langehennig, Kerrville; Otfried Scott, Fredericksburg; and Eliza, Mrs Max Deike, Kerrville.
She was preceded in death by a son, Nolan, who died in infancy; two sisters, Ella, Mrs. Otto Schuch and Miss Clara Wittkohl and a half-sister, Miss Edna Scott.
Pallbearers at the rites were: Marvin Schuch, James Langehennig, Nolan Friedrich, Norman Thiele, Lawrenece Schuch and Olin Straube.
