Nora was born September 11, 1911, in Brandon, Minnesota, the daughter of John and nellie (Arntson) Stuberg. She graduated from Brandon High School in 1929. Nora was united in marriage to Alfred Walstad November 27, 1930 in Brandon. The Walstads farmed for many years and in 1968 they moved to Alexandria. Nora was a member of the Sons of Norway and East Moe Lutheran church.
Mrs. Walstad died November 15, 2000 at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home. She is survived by one son: Alan Walstad of Coon Rapids; 18 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and brother: Earl Stuberg and wife Dorothy of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred in 1976; two children: Dale Walstad and Jane Haugen.
Funeral services were held November 19, 2000 at the East Moe Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Pallbearers were Karlan Walstad, Neil Walstad, Scot Walstad, Paul Haugen, Stan Haugen, Tim Walstad, Dan Haugen and Rick Walstad. Interment was at the East Moe Cemetery. Services were directed by Petermeier's Alexandria Funeral Care and Cremation Services.
