Patsy Haynes Meek, 79, of Eupora, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 29, at the First United Methodist Church in Eupora with burial at the Eupora Cemetery. The Revs. Hershel Wiygul and Trey Harper will be officiating.
"Miss Patsy" was born in Laurel on August 28, 1928, to John Travis and Eva McBride Haynes, both of Ellisville. Patsy's childhood was spent in Ellisville before attending the University of Mississippi where she received her undergraduate degree in education. While attending Ole Miss, Patsy was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and a campus favorite. She was also a beauty at Ole Miss and had her picture on one of the Ole Miss magazines.
At Ole Miss she met "Buck" Meek and they fell in love. They were married on June 26, 1949, in the Methodist Church in Ellisville. When they left Ole Miss, the Meeks moved to Houston, where they resided for about a year. They then moved back to Eupora, Buck's home town, where they resided for many years and raised their family.
