Born in Norfolk, he had retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 20 years of service and was a veteran of World War II. He was also retired from the U.S. Post Office. Mr. Allard was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Reba F. Allard ; a son, Dennis Paul Allard of Chesapeake; and two sisters, Virginia and Eloise, both of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
